Santa & "Kids"

Posted by Picasa

Santa holds his youngest grandkids Gracie and Cooper. Gracie has been with us for two years. Cooper was rescued from a puppymill in October 2006. One of the first things Cooper did to endear himself in the family was when he ate "Santa's" brand new hearing aids.

Since October 2005, Eileen and Haleigh have fostered 43 bichons and Eileen is now on the board of directors for Bichons FurKids

Mr. & Mrs. Robert Dooley of Brea

Katie was so beautiful and Robert was very handsome.

In some ways - it seems like only yesterday when we would see Robert running down the street, his dog Babe pulling him back towards home by the seat of his pampers (the only thing he was wearing).

It was such a wonderful day seeing two young people commit their lives to each under under God's hand.

Not Older - BETTER !!

Susie, me and Patty at Robert's wedding, 10/21/2006

Robert & Katie had a beautiful wedding and it was a
wonderful day. It's always good to see family and
old friends and such a happy occasion.

I learned in this picture that if I stand behind someone, I don't have to suck my stomach in nearly as much as I do when there isn't anything between me and the camera.

Don't Susie and Patty look great!

Cooper and His Brothers

This is a picture Haleigh snapped in our backyard. She caught Cooper playing with his brothers Trojan and Traveler (who were recently adopted by Pat and Dave Oberle).

We spent the weekend taking the pups to Dr. Alice for their shots and examinations, and giving them their first baths since finding permanent new homes.

The hardest part of being a foster parent - is letting dogs leave...

Cooper's First Bath

Eileen gives Cooper his first bath since she adopted him. Three weeks after being rescued Cooper is no longer hiding or biting, but still is pretty tense when being touched. Cooper was one of eight Bichons rescued by Bichons Fur Kids. Two of Cooper's brothers were also adopted this week by our old friends Pat and Dave Oberle. Posted by Picasa

Birthday Mom

Our oldest daughter Christal already teaching Evan Charles his letters.

We "think" Evan will be our last grandchild.

This picture was taken on Christal's birthday, September 2006 - at Christal and Steve's beautiful home here in Riverside.

Wasn't it only Yesterday?

It seems like only yesterday when we were sending out pictures of Haleigh's first day of kindergarten.. it's impossible to believe that she's in Mrs. Johnstone's fourth grade class now.

Since this picture was taken, Haleigh has grown in so many ways. She'll always have her music and loves her guitar and choir. She loves to read and is also a wonderful writer. More important than anything else - Haleigh is strong in her faith and is a much better witness to Jesus than most of us would ever hope to be. Here she is on the day she learned how to iron for the first time. She found out that doing Papa's shirts is a great way to earn extra money.

The Wonder

We loved our cruise on the Disney Wonder. This was part of our Disney vacation in 2003.

We spent four days on this wonderful ship, and combined this trip with several days at the Disney parks in Orlando.

Disney's MGM

Tourists? We haven't seen any tourists. Eileen, Haleigh and me, August 2003 on Disney vacation. (Notice Mickey groping Eileen's knee...)

(Aren't Hawaiian shirt's great! They do a great job of hiding the fact that I'm twice the size of the rest of my family - combined.)

Eileen's Angel

Eileen and her sweet angel Haleigh, just before leaving for Christal & Steve's church, on Christmas Eve, 2004.

After church, everyone comes over to Grandma & Papa's house, visits with Santa, has a birthday party for Jesus (including decorated birthday cake of course) and then spends the night.

Christmas will always be my favorite time of the year.

Santa's Helpers

Santa with his grandbabies, Christmas Eve 2004

"Papa, is that you?"

Santa and his little helper Haleigh on Christmas Eve, 2004. The look in a small child's eyes as they look at Santa - never ceases to amaze me.

A year later Haleigh was busy on Christmas Eve, helping Santa get ready for his visit to Grandma and Papa's house.

Fantasyland Wishing Well

Eileen and Haleigh make a wish - February 8th, 2000 (the day Haleigh got her first annual Disneyland pass).

When You Wish ....

Haleigh on February 8th, 2000.. wearing her new "Snow White" dress she wished for from her birthday Disneyland visit.

Christmas Memories

Anna, Julia and Haleigh wearing new dresses before visiting with Santa..

Finches in the Fountain

Hey, you're taking all the hot water - leave me some!
